Soft Touch took a group of young people from New Parks who worked alongside Streetvibe and the Youth Service Young Advisors to show MPs the benefits of doing high-quality street-based creative activities.
Liz Kendall is a strong supporter of Soft Touch’s creative engagement work with young people in the west of the City. The aim of the event was to engage key stakeholders and to influence MPs on the process and importance of youth services and youth participation. MPs Alex Cunningham, Jon Ashworth, Lisa Nandy, Karen Buck, Stephen Twigg and Graham Stuart attended the event and chatted with young people and Soft Touch directors about our work.
Tweets from MPs on the day: “Great to see showcase of inspirational youth work from Leicester’s @softtoucharts and @streetvibe. Well done all and @lizkendall”. Karen Buck MP
“Young people from Leicester’s brilliant Streetvibe & Soft Touch Arts are making a big impact outside Parliament right now with @leicesterliz”. Lisa Nandy MP
