New Parks Quilt

Crafty people in New Parks have contributed over 120 squares to a quilt celebrating New Parks in the Jubilee and Olympic year of 2012.

New Parks residents contributed squares that were pieced, knitted, crocheted, embroidered, sewn and drawn. The quilt was assembled by our admin worker Tricia Gilbert, a long-time quilter, who says, “It’s one of the largest quilts I’ve ever put together. I’m pleased to be able to pull together such a variety of crafts into a large piece that represents the community.” The New Parks Community Panel will be unveiling the quilt soon at the Community Centre, where it will be permanently hung.
