“From Scrap to Sculpture” Special unveiling

On September 18, Soft Touch Arts held an event at the Quorn Grange Hotel to unveil the sculpture created by talented ladies from New Parks.

Participants from Style Your Space project came together to create a sculpture made from scrap metal.

The metal was donated by local waste management company Wastecycle, and was used to create a beautiful sculpture which is now on display in the outside cafe of the Quorn Grange Hotel.

Participants Kelly and Jodie worked alongside Paul Bacon from Cyclone Works, a welder known for his crazy creations!

The participants were given a range of tasks, from designing, cutting sheets of metal right to welding and spraying the sculpture.

Kelly, a long term Style Your Space participant said “I have really enjoyed working on this project with Jodie, Kieran, Paul and Emily. We worked really well to create this sculpture with the recycled material we had. I think its come together brilliantly and I hope the hotel and guests enjoy it for years to come.”

The event began at 12.30pm, where guests were welcomed with a drinks reception and delicious buffet generously provided by the Quorn Grange Hotel, the guests were able to explore the beautiful grounds and network with other guests.

At 1pm guests gathered in the outside cafe area of the hotel, among the wonderful guests that attended there was also some high profile guests such as MP Nicky Morgan, Mayor of Charnwood John Capleton, Mayoress of Charnwood Meg Jenkinson, The High Sheriff of Leicestershire Gordon Arthur accompanied by his wife Janet, and The Chairman of Leicester City Council David Snartt.
