Not only did the White Peacock hold an amazing fundraising event for us which raised a whopping £750! But on Monday November 2, Chef Patron Phillip Sharpe gave up his day off to run our first team-building cooking event at 50 New Walk with Arch Creative which was a great success.
When asked why he does so much for charities and young people, Phil said:
“We think it is important to give young people opportunities and support them. Our charity work is a crucial part of that. We support Soft Touch because the work they do with young people is great.”
Last night they hosted a fundraising dinner event ‘A Touch of Community’ on our behalf which raised £750! 40 guests enjoyed an amazing 6-course taster menu and got creative at the tables with our collage fruit & veg head competition!
Thank you also to the businesses that donated prizes for our prize draw raffle – Barrie Stephen, Remy, Narborough Hall, Betty Brown Boutique, Lex Goodwin and Phoenix Arts.
The White Peacock also won a prestigious Taste of England Gold Award in the annual Leicester and Leicestershire Excellence in Tourism Awards 2015. It couldn’t be more deserved – congratulations from all at Soft Touch – we’re very proud of you.
Business strategic director Chris Wigmore said: “We had an amazing night at the White Peacock and all the guests commented about the wonderful food, the lovely atmosphere and the friendly staff. Phil & Charlotte really do care about making a difference locally and by offering their restaurant for our fundraising evening they have helped to raise vital funds to finish equipping our healthy eating project kitchen at 50 New Walk. We raised £750 on the night.”
