Re-Fab Showcase

On May 19th 2016, Soft Touch opened its doors to showcase the fantastic work created by participants of the RE-FAB project.

RE-FAB is an upcycling, skill-based project which teaches unemployed young people aged between 14-25 how to make funky furniture, household and fashion items out of recycled materials such as pallets, old desks, reclaimed fabrics and much more.

Weekly Tuesday sessions, led by arts worker Kieran Walsh worked towards producing a range of items ready for the first showcase event.

The exhibition enabled families and friends of the participants, as well as some of our business supporters to come and take a look at the fantastic work that had been created, and give the young people valuable feedback about their work.

One of our business supporters MNE Accounting treated guests to a free lunch in our sMASHing Thursday pop-up café.   It was a great event and there will be further events throughout the year.
