Back in June 2016 we entered the awards in two categories - Skills & Employability and Social Impact.
Back in June 2016 we entered the awards in two categories – Skills & Employability and Social Impact. We were selected as finalists in both categories which felt like a big achievement in itself. Our Business Development Director Christina and Rank Foundation Time to Shine Intern, Emily went to the awards interviews at PKF Cooper Parry and did our best to present our charity and the vital work we do using creativity to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged young people in Leicestershire. We came away thinking it was a great experience but not really expecting to win an award!
On Friday 2nd September, thanks to one of our business supporters, Pete Miller of the Miller Partnership, who sponsored our tickets, Christina and Harinder attended the awards dinner, full of nerves and anticipation. It was brilliant to see our name up there on the screens explaining what we do in front of so many great regional businesses and when they called our name out as winners of the Social Impact Award we both nearly fell off our seats. It really was an incredible feeling and such a privilege to win such a prestigious award.
