Make Us Your Charity of the Year

We love to work in partnership with local businesses

For those businesses that want to show their commitment to making a difference in local communities, choosing to support Soft Touch Arts as your charity of choice means you will be helping to make a difference to young people who are have barriers to achieving because of their life circumstances. We work with over 1000 young people each year, opening up opportunities to engage with the cultural life of the city. We also work with 100 or so young people that have very difficult and challenging lives because they are in care, live in poverty, have special learning and behaviour needs, are socially isolated or have a disability. Our welcoming staff and specially designed creative programmes help them have a sense of purpose and offer an alternative way of learning and developing new skills, confidence and social networks.

We need the support of local businesses to keep running our creative and life skills programmes which help young people with challenging lives develop life and social skills that will help them move into education and employment and to live happier and healthier lives.   A Charity of the Year partnership with Soft Touch Arts brings lots of benefits to your business – here are a few examples

*Opportunities for joint publicity and PR

*Opportunities for staff engagement and volunteering

*Use our event/exhibition space for networking and client meetings

*Association with an award winning charity that has a proven social impact and benefits young people in local communities

Each month we feature a charity partner - this month it's Betty Brown

Local Boutique owner and designer Sukhina Garcia (AKA Betty Brown) could see a creative link in the work that Soft Touch Arts does with young people and her own background and business.   She has raised nearly £1000 this year through special events at her shop where she donates a percentage of sales on a specific day, to organising an inspiring  fashion and art show at a neighbouring Francis Street business, Trident Galleries where 10% of sales on the night were donated to Soft Touch Arts.  She is also giving her time to mentor a group of young people who are making 80s inspired fashion for Soft Touch’s 30th year anniversary exhibition in November.
