VEG-TASTIC

Year 5 pupils at Mellor Community Primary School had plenty of opportunity to get their hands on – and teeth into – lots of fresh fruit and veg as part of the Veg-tastic project. The half-day activity had the children identifying and learning about different fruit and vegetables – where they come from, how they are grown, why they are good for us. Then the really fun part started – making pictures out of the produce which they then photographed. Some of them made up poems to go with their pictures. We couldn’t stop them wanting to eat it all up at the end of the day.”This is a brilliant workshop – it’s so rare that children get to play with food without getting told off! They’ve learnt so much today and the pictures they have made out of fruit and veg are fantastic”. Year 5 teacher
