Back On Track

BACK ON TRACK : Supporting young people to succeed through music mentoring.

The Programme is now closed

The BACK ON TRACK programme offered an opportunity for young people interested in music to be paired with a music mentor and take part in a weekly three-hour studio session for between three and six months.

The programme was open to young people aged 16+ who need extra support to develop confidence and self-esteem. They may have challenges in their lives which make it difficult for them to attend mainstream youth provision, maintain regular attendance at school/college or find regular employment.

The weekly sessions provided a supportive and nurturing environment where the young person can work with their mentor and professional music tutors to develop new music skills, improve confidence and progress with personal goals. There will be opportunities to collaborate with other budding musicians to make and perform music and be part of organising city showcase events. Soft Touch is a registered Arts Award Centre and QCF qualifications such as the Bronze Arts Award can be achieved through attendance.
