Fright Before Christmas 2014

Our regular referrals-only session at Soft Touch, STart goes from strength to strength with over 25 people on the books and 20 of those showing up most weeks.

The longer standing members of the group worked with Kieran to write produce and perform 2014's “Fright Before Christmas”.

A new venue was found and it created the prefect setting for a scary walk-through performance for small audiences.

A large cast of terrifying characters was assembled to scare the audience who found themselves trapped in a semi-derelict institution where they had to work out how to escape from the the crazed inmates. We performed the show seven times and would like to thank everyone who helped out – and all the audience members for daring to participate!

The Start group members are now working on their next production “A Fright on Valentine’s Day” .
To achieve this, they successfully raised some funding by applying to the Mighty Creatives.
Meanwhile, the regular Start sessions continue to offer art and music opportunities to young people from all over the city and county.
We were recently presented with a cheque for STart funding by Nic Olsen of the St James Place Trust and we thank them for contributing to the future running of STart.

As part of our fundraising efforts we will be introducing a small charge for this session from January 2015, aiming to keep this charge affordable for all. If you can support our efforts in any way, please get in touch.
