The young men’s pride in their children and the pleasure and fulfillment they get from their role is evident throughout. There is clearly given information and advice for other young parents and messages for health and welfare providers. The film portrays some of the challenges facing young fathers yet it is not all about problems, pain and prejudice. It is a useful resource for teachers, youth and community workers, and health practitioners.
“This film shows we are not living up to social stereotypes: we are not a waste of space. We are not just weekend dads or single parents. We don’t pick the best bits: we are involved in it all”!
