Thirteen mentors have now been through the training programme, designed to prepare them for working with young people facing multiple challenges. Mentors meet their mentees once a week to build their self-esteem and support them in reaching goals such as going to college or finding a job.
To complement the one-to-one mentoring, we are also inviting applications from people in the local community to join our skill-share scheme. This is a way to connect local skilled volunteers with young people who have specific needs, for example, an accountant may support young people to develop their financial skills.
