Current and past projects

Here are some of our current and past projects.

With funding from Awards For All, Kieran Walsh and Lewis Buttery from Soft Touch Arts go to Glen Parva prison to work with inmates every week with help from staff from The Therapeutic Drug and Alcohol Support Team (TDAS).

Kickstart matches young people aged 17-24 with a mentor who can offer support, direction and encouragement on a one to one basis to help them make positive choices and take steps towards education, employment or training.

Wednesday 3rd February saw the launch of the two latest projects in the Arts Council funded partnership programme with New Parks Library ‘Creative New Parks’.

We set up pART-of with funding generated through our Catalyst Arts programme supported by the Arts Council. It was an incentive scheme to encourage new funders and donors to support our work with a match donation given for every £1 donated through new supporters.

Musical Care Homes is a new ground breaking project that works specifically in homes with elder people.

During October 2015, Soft Touch exhibited their first project in the New Walk building. The project was produced with and by young people and demonstrated the differences between life as a young person in the 1950s and modern day life in Leicester.
